I’m glad you asked, since I didn’t want to just shamelessly plug myself without prompting.
As mentioned on the “Who Is E. Spencer Kyte?” page, I’m a writer.
My main focus is mixed martial arts (MMA), better known to most people as UFC, even though the sport itself is MMA and the UFC is simply the premier organization in the sport.
You don’t play NFL, you play football. You don’t do UFC, you do MMA.
Got it?
I have been writing an MMA blog called Keyboard Kimura for Vancouver’s leading newspaper, The Province, for close to two years now, making my way into the print edition of the paper on a fairly regular basis as well. I’m also a regular contributor to UFC.com and have just started contributing to Fight! Magazine as well, one of the foremost publications in the sport.
I’ve written for a number of MMA sites in the past, penned a few different pieces on a few different subjects for a Canadian magazine called Passion before they went under (not my fault, I swear), and am an avid blogger, as you’ll soon find out from the daily nuggets of awesomeness I’ll be delivering here.
One of my goals over the next year is to sit down and get to work on my first screenplay.
I know that is terribly cliche, but have you seen the crap that is coming out of Hollywood these days? If someone is willing to pay a hefty price to make What’s Your Number?, Larry Crowne, and Country Strong, there is hope for would-be screenwriters like me.
